Couponing 101: Compliment (or Complain About) Products

So you’ve been using the Sunday inserts to get coupons and have been finding tons of printable coupons online.  You’re doing pretty well, right?  Well, did you know there’s another (easy) way to get coupons?  Yes there is!

Do you simply love a particular brand of food?  Do you hate some brand?  Well, tell the manufacturer of that brand and they will most likely send you coupons!  Manufacturers LOVE all feedback.

All you need to do is visit the manufacturer’s website and fill out their contact form (make sure to include your mailing address).  Tell them everything you think about their brand.  Tell them why you love/hate it, tell them when you eat it, don’t leave out a single detail.  In most cases, you will see coupons from that manufacturer in 4-6 weeks (sometimes less!).

So how do you find your favorite/least favorite manufacturers online?  Do a search for the brand on which you want to give feedback.  You will find the site of the brand and they will most likely have a “Contact Us” link.  Click that link and follow the prompts.  It’s that easy!

I have done this numerous times and there is only 1 manufacturer that did not send me coupons.  In fact, I told a company how much I disliked one of their products and they sent me a coupon for a FREE one (so I tried a different flavor).

Let me know how this works out for everyone!!  I love feedback too!!

Friday Flop – Great Shopping Trip Turned Not So Great

Amy | January 29, 2010

So this Friday Flop will be about a past shopping trip experience.  On this particular day, I was on top of my game.  I was getting fantastic deals throughout the grocery store!  I was tallying up the cost of everything and by the last aisle, my total was right on budget!  I was so excited that I had done so well.

So I go to checkout and I’m all smiles while she’s scanning the coupons and I’m watching the total go down, down, down.  Then she stopped and the total was more than I thought it would be.  At first, I thought an item had rung up wrong.  So I didn’t make a fuss right there.  I thanked the checker and went on my way.

When I got to the car, I looked over the receipt.  Everything had rung up just right.  That’s odd.  So I checked my grocery list on my phone and it was like a ton of bricks fell from the sky right on my head.  There it was staring at me.  I had put an item’s price in as $0.05 instead of $5.00!!  This threw off my total and I ended up going over budget.

Moral of the story:  Mistakes happen!  Don’t let them get you down.  Just pick up and move on.  Also, be sure to double/triple check everything!
